Samuel Laflamme proved again he is good at creating horror scores.

So we’re dealing again with sneaking and running, like we did in the first game, however, this installment is more intense. Even worse, local inhabitants seem to be downright hostile. While arriving at the spot, their helicopter crashes and the reporter’s wife disappears. The protagonist and his wife are running a reporter’s investigation of a mysterious death of an unindentified woman.

The story of the game takes place during one night at a small village somewhere in the Arizona desert. The soundtrack appeared shortly before the premiere of Outlast 2. Amazing dynamics of gameplay, strong presence of fear and repulsion, outstanding sound design and, more importantly, appealing soundtrack by Samuel Laflamme are what made that production special. But the night-vision also reduces the distance you can see, and drains the camera’s battery at an alarming speed, forcing you to scavenge the environments for more or risk navigating in near-complete darkness. The independent horror game Outlast, published in 2013, was highly appreciated among both the players and the critics. The couple are on the trail of a dead woman whose body washed up in a river in Arizona and have travelled deep into the desert to investigate where she came from and what happened to her. You play as Blake Langermann, a cameraman who works with his wife and freelance reporter Lynn. Outlast 2 tells an entirely different story from the first game.
